Novels for 2011

Hard to believe it's almost here but I can see it coming. 2011, the big year. Or, I hope it's going to be a big year for me. 2010 went by so fast it's hard to imagine that I'm already planning what to write in the next year. Course, in 2009 I thought by the start of 2011 I'd have a job but I never imagined I'd do a publishing internship either, so never know how things will look a year from now. I'm looking forward to what may come this year and plan to make the effort needed.

While I don't really do new year's resolutions, I do like to make goals. I won't make them yet but I have figured out what I plan to work on and a couple that I may work on but haven't decided yet. Here are the three different categories of novel work I am considering for 2011.

Novels to Edit (and or rewrite):
Tattle Tell 2nd draft and beyond
Standing Ground
Hellenic Distractions

Novels to Finish:
Gathered at Dawn (nano epic fantasy series book 1)
Angel/Demon
Thomas/Kyle Novella

Novels to Start (maybe):
YA mutant book 2
Steampunk/Fantasy
Dystopian
YA contemp Intersex novel
Or other ideas

Are you ready for 2011?

Hey Dawn, I haven't hooked up since NaNo and thought I'd pop over and say hi and hope you're very pleased with your NaNo novel. I am writing another 20,000 words to make mine 70,000+.

Thanks again for the planning helps for NaNo.

I wish you all the best success for 2011. You have a lot of work in front of you as well as holding down a job.

I have one novel to edit, 1 to finish, and short stories zapping out of my brain all over the place. I've finally broken into a magazine I've been after for sometime so I'm chuffed as the English would say.

My main writing goal for 2011 is to do less blogging and more on my WIPs/stories. I'll try anyway...

So ambitious. You haev an impressive list ^_^ I have one goal. To get one of my novels into a draft mode where I feel comfortable submitting it to agents. And then try and find an agent. Anything after that is just icing.

Good luck with your writing!

L'Aussie - Glad it was of help to you and that the novel is getting done. While I love the event, 50k isn't enough for most my stories so there is always more to write. Thank you and I wish you luck for 2011 as well.

Loralie - Hi there. :-D Thanks. Good luck with your one goal. With the YA edit, I'm also hoping to get it ready to send to agents ASAP but need to get a list of potential agents going as well. I started a small one then at least one of them left agenting, and she was tops on my list. So, need to really get into gear in 2011.
